Early Lead not enough for AviatorsSunday, July 01, 2018
Just like the night before, the Aviators got a quick start versus the Paints. Also like the night before, the Aviators kept them scoreless for two innings. The game entered weather delay after both the Aviators and the Paints scored a run in the third. The Paints came back after the delay, adding four more runs in the third to take a 5-3 lead.
Two more innings would pass before the score changed. During the bottom of the sixth the Paints widened their lead by one more run. The Aviators came back within a run (5-6) in the top the seventh courtesy of a Home Run from Bryce Ball that also brought in Kam Smith. The Paints added yet another in the bottom of the seventh to lead by 2. At that point the Aviators were down 5-7, and despite another scoreless Paints at bat from pitcher Ty Lautenschlager, the Aviators could not come back.
The final score was Aviators 5 Paints 7.
The Aviators play Chillicothe in Ohio again tomorrow night (7/2) at 7:05 PM.
