Last Home Game Ends in Loss

Thursday, August 02, 2018

The Lafayette Aviators could not end their home season in style, losing their final home game of the year to the Kokomo Jackrabbits, 11-3.

The inter-state rivals felt each other out for two innings before Kokomo struck up two runs in the 3rd inning, including a solo home run. They’d add another two before Lafayette was able to answer with a single run of their own in the bottom of the 4th.

Tyler Powers and Kevin Dobos would contribute runs of their own in the bottom of the 5th, but the home team couldn’t keep up with the rapid scoring pace of the Jackrabbits.

The game ended in the 9th inning due to extreme weather, but the result had been long decided.

Lafayette’s last game of the season is Friday against the Jackrabbits in Kokomo, first pitch is scheduled for 7:05 pm.
